Welcome to Finesse Pastries. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of finessepastries.com and all content, recipes, and services we provide (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Finesse Pastries is a recipe publication that develops, tests, and publishes recipes and cooking guidance for home cooks. You can reach us at hello@finessepastries.com.

2. Using the Site

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes: reading, cooking from, printing, and sharing links to our recipes. You agree not to:

  • copy, scrape, republish, or redistribute our content, in whole or in part, without written permission;
  • use automated tools to access the Site in a way that burdens our servers or bypasses access controls;
  • attempt to interfere with the Site’s security, availability, or the advertising served on it, including by generating fraudulent ad impressions or clicks;
  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

3. Recipes, food safety, and allergies

Our recipes are tested in home kitchens and written to be as clear and reliable as we can make them, but cooking results vary with ingredients, equipment, altitude, and technique. You are responsible for following safe food handling practices, cooking foods to safe internal temperatures, and checking ingredients for allergens. Nutritional information, where provided, is an estimate generated from standard ingredient data and should not be relied on for medical purposes. Nothing on the Site is medical, dietary, or professional advice.

4. Intellectual property

All text, recipes, photographs, graphics, logos, and design on the Site are owned by Finesse Pastries or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Ingredient lists are generally not protected by copyright, but our written instructions, headnotes, and photography are. If you would like to feature one of our recipes, you may share one photo and a link back to the recipe page along with a short description in your own words; please do not republish the full instructions. For any other use, ask us first.

5. Your content

If you send us feedback, recipe ideas, photos, or other material, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, edit, and publish it in connection with the Site, with credit where appropriate. You confirm you have the right to share anything you send us.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The Site is supported by advertising served by third-party partners, and it may contain links to other websites and, occasionally, affiliate links. Sponsored content and affiliate relationships are disclosed where they appear, as described in our Editorial Guidelines. We are not responsible for the content, products, or privacy practices of third-party sites or advertisers, and a link does not imply endorsement.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finesse Pastries and its owners, authors, and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any recipe on it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finesse Pastries and its owners, authors, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email hello@finessepastries.com with the subject “Copyright notice”, a description and location of the material, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We will review and respond promptly.

11. Changes and termination

We may change these Terms at any time by posting an updated version and changing the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the new Terms. We may suspend or end access to the Site, or remove content, at any time without notice.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Finesse Pastries is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located there, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
